Funerals

A funeral is an emotional occasion and it is also a very important occasion as it is the last thing we can do for our loved one.

Today, there are far more options available in terms of what sort of funeral you would like for your loved one and it can be difficult to know which option to go for.

My job, as a Civil Celebrant, is to create and deliver a ceremony which reflects the life of the person who has passed away i.e. hobbies and interests, talents and achievements, family, work, beliefs, character and personality.

Ceremonies can be completely non religious, fully Christian, or anywhere in between.

Very often, people are not church goers but have a belief in God, or it may be that they were part of  a church at one time, but having not attended for years, feel it wouldn't be appropriate to have a minister or priest.

We all have very individual beliefs on the subject of death and different ideas of what a funeral ceremony should be about.

I will take time to meet with you and learn about your loved one, to discuss readings, poetry and music, and to advise you on any special requests you may have.

In most cases, families like to look upon a funeral as a celebration of life and so I aim to deliver a ceremony which is both meaningful and uplifting.
